TAMPA – Waiting for the wheels of justice to move has been one long, agonizing wait for Ron Tomlinson.
“I’ve been waiting so long, I’m so glad it’s here,” he said.
In December 2005, Ron’s son, 13-year-old Stephen Tomlinson was found murdered at Logan Gate Park, just a couple of blocks away from his home.
Investigators arrested Joshua Rosa – a youth minister at the Zion Pentecostal Church. But on the heels of the criminal case, Ron Tomlinson is taking on a new battle.
The father of two filed a civil lawsuit against the Zion Pentecostal Church who hired Rosa as a youth minister. Tomlinson claims the church failed to properly supervise Rosa with Stephen.
“If you’re working under the guidelines of this church, policies and procedures indicate there needs to be a second adult present. They are not supposed to be left alone because what if something happens,” said Attorney David Tirella.

is the church really to blame for this????
Joshua is a personal friend of mine. I assure you is innocent. He was trying to help – that’s just how he is. Please see this video and ask God to give you the discernment to see the innocence in his face.

No – the church should not be blamed (even if it would have been true).
GRivera, you stated that you are his friend and I am sure he needs your prayers at this moment. However, a jury of his peers weighed the evidence and found him guilty. The facts are what matter in the end, not facial expressions, ect. I am not trying to be harsh, but, justice looks to have prevailed in this case. If you read the entire testimony as I have, you would probally concur with the jury. May God help Joshua and all the family members effected by this tradegy.
Seems to me if he would have been totally innocent, he would have gladly testified in the witness stand.
Cross examination doesn’t have to be scary if you always tell the truth.
My brother, the best thing about being in your shoes is you can always ask god to forgive you. He only knows. If you didn’t do it maybe you’ve been persecuted because of your strong faith in god.
